Curricular Planning and Implementation
The institution follows the curriculum prescribed by the respective Boards and Councils for all programmes affiliated to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Telangana. The curriculum is reviewed, verified, and approved by the respective Boards of Studies of KNRUHS. At the commencement of every academic year, the institution prepares a comprehensive academic calendar in alignment with the university’s academic schedule and guidelines.
The Principal, in coordination with the Academic Committee, prepares the master timetable for all programmes and subjects, ensuring appropriate allocation of lecture hours, practical sessions, clinical postings, seminars, and other academic activities for all 24 courses offered by the institution, as prescribed by the concerned councils and university regulations.
The Heads of Departments conduct departmental academic planning meetings to organize the schedule for theory classes, laboratory sessions, hospital postings, internal assessments, and co-curricular academic activities. The syllabus is distributed among faculty members based on their area of specialization, expertise, and workload. Faculty members are instructed to complete the prescribed syllabus within the stipulated time frame. In cases of delay arising from unforeseen circumstances, remedial classes and extra academic sessions are arranged to ensure timely completion of the curriculum.
To support effective curriculum implementation, the institution continuously upgrades library resources, laboratory facilities, clinical training materials, and digital learning resources based on faculty recommendations and student requirements. Various innovative teaching-learning methods are adopted, including PowerPoint presentations, seminars, group discussions, case presentations, demonstrations, assignments, project work, simulation-based learning, and clinical teaching methodologies.
The curriculum and academic regulations are framed and periodically revised by the Boards of Studies and Academic Bodies of KNRUHS. The institution regularly receives circulars, notifications, academic regulations, and curriculum updates from the university through official communications and online portals. The Principal disseminates these updates to the concerned departments and faculty members to ensure effective implementation of revised regulations and curriculum changes.
Faculty members are encouraged to participate in workshops, faculty development programmes, continuing education activities, refresher courses, and orientation programmes conducted by the university and other academic bodies to enhance their understanding of curriculum revisions, teaching methodologies, and academic regulations.
Periodic meetings of the Academic Committee and departmental review meetings are conducted to monitor curriculum delivery, academic progress, and teaching effectiveness. Internal assessments, assignments, practical examinations, clinical evaluations, and unit tests are systematically planned and conducted in accordance with university norms prior to the final university examinations. Continuous monitoring, mentoring, and feedback mechanisms are implemented to maintain and enhance the quality of the teaching-learning process across all healthcare and allied health science programmes offered by the institution.
